TEMPLATE, NOT LEGAL ADVICE. Review before relying on it. This is a plain-English starting draft for a solo service business. Have it checked (and fill in the bracketed placeholders) before collecting emails or taking payments.

Terms of Service

Effective date: [DATE]

These terms cover orders from Shelf Test Studio, a one-person business in Texas, USA, run by [LEGAL NAME / BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "I"). By ordering, you ("you", the client) agree to them.

1. What you're buying

A recorded video review ("teardown") of your public Steam store page, with written notes. Current options (prices in US dollars):

Video lengths are typical, not exact. Founding or promotional prices, when offered, are shown at checkout.

2. Payment

You pay in full upfront through our payment provider [Stripe or Gumroad]. Prices don't include any taxes that may apply.

3. Delivery

We deliver within 72 hours of receiving your payment and your public Steam page URL. We take a limited number of orders each week so every teardown is on time. If we can't take your order in that window, we'll tell you before you pay or refund you in full. You'll get a private or unlisted video link and your written notes by email.

4. Human-made work

The video, sketches and rewrites are made by a person. Software is only used to collect public page data (like tag lists and screenshot counts). No generative AI is used in the deliverables.

5. What we need from you

A public Steam store page URL and, if you like, your next milestone (for example, a demo or Next Fest). We never ask for your Steamworks login or passwords. Don't send them.

6. No promised results

Our teardowns are professional opinions. Nobody can promise wishlists, sales or Steam features, and we don't. You decide which changes to make.

7. Refunds

[CONFIRM BEFORE LAUNCH] If your video doesn't give you at least 3 changes you think are worth making, reply within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. If we miss the 72-hour delivery window, you can ask for a full refund too. Once a refund is issued, please don't use the deliverables.

8. Who owns what

9. Not affiliated with Valve

Shelf Test Studio isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Steam is a trademark of Valve Corporation.

10. Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we're not liable for indirect losses such as lost sales or profits.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of [COUNTY] County, Texas, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you order applies to that order.
